Driving at zero dark and early headed to the Y, I imagined my body as a dark form and wondered how the Lord wanted to fill it for the day. Sitting with that in the gentle rhythm of the no-sound electric car, I sought to pause and note how I felt, allowing my inward space to be acknowledged. Lord, what would you bring across my path today, and how will I move into it? Will you show me how to accompany You in the work You are doing in my world, in my moments, at the Y, in my personal encounters?

In our world of noise, busy lives, too much information, true, not true, and somewhere in between, what of truth and grace will my body’s dark-formed space allow?

So I wait — in the silence, embracing warmth without words, soaking in the ambiance, and recalling that the Lord of Light, the Emmanuel of my Life, will fill that form as I am open-hearted, willing, and watching, aware of the reality of this Spirit of Life. Inhabit my very being so that the Greater than I am is shed abroad in my heart, body, and soul so that dark form shines forth the brilliance of the One who is Life itself. True Life, True Love, The Truth.

And I wait until my form fills and my imaginings warm me so less than chilled, less dark, more like Light. Time to get out of the car. Hello world!
