SUMMARY:Silent Day Retreat: Exploring Eudaimonia
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION\nNeed time to get away from distractions\, noise\, and disruptions to be able to rest? Try exploring what it means to be quiet and listen on a silent day retreat. Whether it would be your first time or the 40th time\, permit yourself\, as a gift\, to lay aside all the “shoulds” of your day to curiosity and wonder in what may surprise you. Let the generosity of God allow for the spaciousness of time in a quiet space.  \nA silent retreat is a place to let go of expectations\, befriend silence\, listen\, walk\, nap\, pray\, journal\, draw\, and enter into any other slowing-down intention. All the while\, you can trust the process of showing up to God’s invitation to be still in a busy world. \nExplore the concept of Eudaimonia\, human flourishing. \n \n“Eudaimonia” means refusing the open-office model of existence—the state of being always reachable\, always distracted\, always half-on. Instead\, it means moving deliberately through rhythms of stimulation\, connection\, reflection\, routine\, and deep focus. It means recognizing that rest isn’t just collapsing when you’re spent; rest is what makes the deeper chambers of your life possible.” Andy Patton in “Eudaimonia: If You Want to be Creative\, Learn How to Rest” \nDATE \nSaturday\, June 20 \nTIME\n9am-4:30pm \nLOCATION\nChristine Eitzen’s retreat space\, “Agape Court”\nOlalla\, WA \nCOST\n$80\, lunch and snacks provided \nScholarships available \nDETAILS\nSome suggestions of items to bring: journal\, books\, bible\, art supplies\, blanket\, comfy clothes\, walking shoes (weather dependent) \nLimit of 20 participants. Register now. \nQUESTIONS?\nIf you have additional questions\, contact Erika at info@selahcenter.org. Please note it may take up to 48 hours to respond\, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

SUMMARY:Creative Souls Gatherings
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nCreative Souls Gatherings\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Creative Contemplative Gatherings are getting “creative” and moving to a monthly\, one hour format on the third Monday at 6:00 PT on Zoom.\nNow called “Creative Souls Gatherings”\, and still hosted by Wendy Bryant and Cindy Waple; these gatherings will offer visual and written prompts plus individual time to explore any creative medium you would like – drawing\, painting\, dancing\, music\, writing\, movement\, cooking\, gardening\, photography\, etc.   \nWe welcome the curious\, the insightful\, the experimental\, the adventurer\, the practical\, the wary\, the joyful\, the average\, the wanderers and the wonderers – all are welcome to join us and explore creativity as a contemplative practice. No artistic experience is required! \nDATE\nMonday\, June 15\, 6-7pm PT \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nHeld via Zoom \nCOST\nNo Cost \nREGISTER\nRSVP for Zoom link. \nPrior to the event\, you will receive an email from the facilitators that will include the Zoom link. Registration closes 24 hours before event begins. \nFACILITATORS\n \nWENDY BRYANT & CINDY WAPLE \nWendy Bryant and Cindy Waple began curating Creative Contemplative Sessions in 2023 because of the richness both have experienced as they explore creativity as part of their contemplative practices. \nFor Cindy\, being someone who is often in her head\, adding a creative component to contemplation engages more of her heart\, soul and senses\, widening and deepening her experience of the Holy One and her own awareness. Often her creative explorations are simply a collection of markings\, color\, words and other mediums that reflect more of the process of contemplation – revealing\, memorable\, and occasionally producing images that are personally profound. \nWendy often finds herself swirling in the wind like dried leaves on a Fall day. Creative outlets in various media allow her the means to explore with wonder and discover that inner voice that often stumbles when restricted to only words. When in her “Heart Studio\,” she freely engages with all media\, recognizing a deep connection with the Divine\, and even dancing on occasion with the Creative Spirit of God. \nBoth believe that anyone can add various creative options to their contemplative practices and both desire to journey with others as we continue to explore\, experiment and experience a fuller awareness of the Holy One and ourselves as God’s Beloved. \nQUESTIONS? \nIf you have additional questions\, contact Erika at info@selahcenter.org. Please note it may take up to 48 hours to respond\, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

SUMMARY:Creative Souls Gatherings
DESCRIPTION:Creative Souls Gatherings\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Creative Contemplative Gatherings are getting “creative” and moving to a monthly\, one hour format on the third Monday at 6:00 PT on Zoom.\nNow called “Creative Souls Gatherings”\, and still hosted by Wendy Bryant and Cindy Waple; these gatherings will offer visual and written prompts plus individual time to explore any creative medium you would like – drawing\, painting\, dancing\, music\, writing\, movement\, cooking\, gardening\, photography\, etc.   \nWe welcome the curious\, the insightful\, the experimental\, the adventurer\, the practical\, the wary\, the joyful\, the average\, the wanderers and the wonderers – all are welcome to join us and explore creativity as a contemplative practice. No artistic experience is required! \nDATE\nMonday\, February 16\, 6-7pm PT \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nHeld via Zoom \nCOST\nNo Cost \nREGISTER\nRSVP for Zoom link. SUMMARY:Creative Souls Gatherings
DESCRIPTION:Creative Souls Gatherings\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Creative Contemplative Gatherings are getting “creative” and moving to a monthly\, one hour format starting October 20 at 6:00 PDT on Zoom.\n \nNow called “Creative Souls Gatherings”\, and still hosted by Wendy Bryant and Cindy Waple; these gatherings will offer visual and written prompts plus individual time to explore any creative medium you would like – drawing\, painting\, dancing\, music\, writing\, movement\, cooking\, gardening\, photography\, etc.   \n \nWe welcome the curious\, the insightful\, the experimental\, the adventurer\, the practical\, the wary\, the joyful\, the average\, the wanderers and the wonderers – all are welcome to join us and explore creativity as a contemplative practice. No artistic experience is required! \nDATE\nMonday\, October 20\, 6-7pm PT \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nHeld via Zoom \nCOST\nNo Cost \nREGISTER\nRSVP for Zoom link.
