SUMMARY:Creative Souls Gatherings
DESCRIPTION:Creative Souls Gatherings\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Creative Contemplative Gatherings are getting “creative” and moving to a monthly\, one hour format starting October 20 at 6:00 PDT on Zoom.\n \nNow called “Creative Souls Gatherings”\, and still hosted by Wendy Bryant and Cindy Waple; these gatherings will offer visual and written prompts plus individual time to explore any creative medium you would like – drawing\, painting\, dancing\, music\, writing\, movement\, cooking\, gardening\, photography\, etc.   \n \nWe welcome the curious\, the insightful\, the experimental\, the adventurer\, the practical\, the wary\, the joyful\, the average\, the wanderers and the wonderers – all are welcome to join us and explore creativity as a contemplative practice. No artistic experience is required! \nDATE\nMonday\, October 20\, 6-7pm PT \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nHeld via Zoom \nCOST\nNo Cost \nREGISTER\nRSVP for Zoom link. \nPrior to the event\, you will receive an email from the facilitators that will include the Zoom link. Registration closes 24 hours before event begins. \nFACILITATORS\n \nWENDY BRYANT & CINDY WAPLE \nWendy Bryant and Cindy Waple began curating Creative Contemplative Sessions in 2023 because of the richness both have experienced as they explore creativity as part of their contemplative practices. \nFor Cindy\, being someone who is often in her head\, adding a creative component to contemplation engages more of her heart\, soul and senses\, widening and deepening her experience of the Holy One and her own awareness. Often her creative explorations are simply a collection of markings\, color\, words and other mediums that reflect more of the process of contemplation – revealing\, memorable\, and occasionally producing images that are personally profound. \nWendy often finds herself swirling in the wind like dried leaves on a Fall day. Creative outlets in various media allow her the means to explore with wonder and discover that inner voice that often stumbles when restricted to only words. When in her “Heart Studio\,” she freely engages with all media\, recognizing a deep connection with the Divine\, and even dancing on occasion with the Creative Spirit of God. \nBoth believe that anyone can add various creative options to their contemplative practices and both desire to journey with others as we continue to explore\, experiment and experience a fuller awareness of the Holy One and ourselves as God’s Beloved. \nQUESTIONS? \nIf you have additional questions\, contact Erika at info@selahcenter.org. Please note it may take up to 48 hours to respond\, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

SUMMARY:Creative Contemplative Gathering: Photography
DESCRIPTION:Photography means to “write with light.” We invite you to join us as we engage all our senses to explore contemplative photography. Using your own camera (phone or SLR)\, we will explore how to shift our focus to increase our awareness of the Other in our midst. \n\nDATE\nMonday\, May 19\, 6-8pm PDT via Zoom \nLOCATION\nOffered via Zoom \nPrior to the event\, you will receive an email from the facilitators that will include the Zoom link. \n\nCOST\nSuggested donation is $20 per person. No obligation. \nRSVP\nRegistration will close 24 hours in advance of the event. \nDETAILS\nA suggested supply list will be sent to registered participants prior to the session. No photography experience necessary. \n\nSELAH QUESTIONS?\nIf you have additional questions\, contact Erika at info@selahcenter.org. SUMMARY:Class: A Way of Leading
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION\n“A Way of Leading” is a three-session course that provides content\, resources and practices for facilitators of contemplative groups. The sessions will cultivate space to learn and assimilate the experience of leading groups through a community of practice. Learning with others alongside you will provide the greatest source of integration as an effective facilitator. \nThe purpose of this “way of leading” is to recognize that how you lead is as important\, if not more important\, than what you present in a group. To lead in a contemplative way requires a counter-intuitive approach that relies on the Spirit’s movement occurring in the facilitator and the group. The dynamic of listening holds elements that are different than listening one-on-one. \nIn the time together\, using material typically offered to Spiritual Directors\, our focus will be divided into three topics: \n(1) exploring how God creatively and curiously works in groups(2) what is important for you to listen to in others(3) what you bring to the contemplative group as the facilitator \nSESSION DATES\nThursdaysJan 9Jan 16Jan 23 \nTIME\n4-6pm PST \nLOCATION\nClass will be held on Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link from the Facilitator prior to the class. \nCOST\n$50 (if you have attended in the past\, no cost) \nFACILITATOR\nDr. Mary Pandiani\, D.Min\, Executive Director\, leads Selah\, a contemplative community that seeks to provide sacred spaces for people to pause\, encounter and grow. Her current focus is a posture of contemplative living across the seasons of life. With the support of her husband Bill\, Mary serves Selah while also enjoying their four adult daughters and their families.
