into the vitriol of our gut

and stews and ferments

stiffening our lip

sharpening out tongue

blurring our eyes

and boiling our blood

spilling malice and avarice

through blame and accusation

holographic projections

fueled by a potent elixir

of blind rage, reptilian fright and digital angst

reacting with cruelty, brutality and pillaging

in the name of the divine

with the hope of preservation

but instead the finality

of loss and sorrow

without tenderness

nor direction

of how to un-do

the rigidity of what was once tender
