“MY SOUL MAGNIFIES THE LORD” is a song by Mary in the Gospel of Luke, a canticle (or hymn) used in traditional churches during Advent. Here in our book, using THE VOICE BIBLE translation, Mary “lifts up God” as an expression of worship, gratitude, and prophecy.

Nature photographer Beth Griffith illustrates Mary’s Song with her photography from the Pacific Northwest, the American Southwest, and Ireland. When not behind a camera, Beth is a therapist, spiritual director, avid hiker, and lover of Nature. She has been part of Selah since returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2015, including facilitating Living With the Heart. Beth first began exploring the contemplative life in college, and in it, has personally encountered the One who loves us deeply and invites us into God’s divine embrace.
