EVENT DESCRIPTION
Need time to get away from distractions, noise, and disruptions to be able to rest? Try exploring what it means to be quiet and listen on a silent day retreat. Whether it would be your first time or the 40th time, permit yourself, as a gift, to lay aside all the “shoulds” of your day to curiosity and wonder in what may surprise you. Let the generosity of God allow for the spaciousness of time in a quiet space.
A silent retreat is a place to let go of expectations, befriend silence, listen, walk, nap, pray, journal, draw, and enter into any other slowing-down intention. All the while, you can trust the process of showing up to God’s invitation to be still in a busy world.
Explore the concept of Eudaimonia, human flourishing.

“Eudaimonia” means refusing the open-office model of existence—the state of being always reachable, always distracted, always half-on. Instead, it means moving deliberately through rhythms of stimulation, connection, reflection, routine, and deep focus. It means recognizing that rest isn’t just collapsing when you’re spent; rest is what makes the deeper chambers of your life possible.” Andy Patton in “Eudaimonia: If You Want to be Creative, Learn How to Rest”
